My Dubai Desert Safari

Travelogue – Dubai Desert Safari

Considering that beginning of my Dubai trip I got to find out about Desert Safari. Lots of people around advised to opt for this on weekend. My first 2 weeks (& certainly weekends) went in calming down, digging down job details (naturally that was first top priority!!) and getting utilized to schedule. Therefore first two weekends I spent in Hotel room settling down and solidifying the project scope, boundaries & documents things.

Very first week of December ’07, everything about job was clear and I was ready to head out n N’joy. I chose to grab the first opportunity; this weekend was 3 days long. I rested on very first day. Second day early morning I ringed up travel agent office and booked the Dubai tours. I was waiting eagerly till afternoon given that safari was set up to start at 4 pm. Chauffeur ringed up around 2.45 in midday, much earlier than arranged time of 3.30 pm. Motorist, Amin Mohammed; a common Arabian person, 6 feet in height, using conventional Arabic dress was waiting downstairs with his big plushy Landcruiser for me. Taking a look at the Automobile itself I thought my journey was going to be among the best taking a trip experiences I ever had.:-RRB-.

We began our journey after ending up “introduction event” with each other. On the other hand 4 more individuals joined us for tour. Being first to be gotten I had actually gotten the front seat in landcruiser which later showed to be the best place in Safari. With front seat you get the clear big view of desert in front of you and the very best opportunity to shoot video and good pictures of other automobiles in “cafila” as well. Likewise you get an opportunity to interact with chauffeur easily to understand more anywhere needed.

I started bugging Mohammed with questions: “Where are we going? Exactly what is the name of the place?” Mohammed might speak okay English if not excellent. AL Awir was the name of the place we were visiting. 30 Kms far from Dubai, this is the location where real desert starts and stretches it’s borders as much as far parts of UAE and touches OMAN.

We reached the location after half an hour journey on highway. It was a little break of 10 minutes at base camp for this tour organizer where around 10 landcruisers got together to start the actual DESERT RIDE. The tire pressure of automobiles was lowered to cope up with softness of the sand.

The landcruiser began cruising in desert against enormous resistance being produced by softness of sand. Soon the monstrous maker picked up high speed with its strength and we were riding on desert sands up and down, on small n huge waves, diving deep from top of the waves and climbing up small sand hills. It was altogether nice experience together with bit of enjoyment. The only thing I missed out on was; I couldn’t own the machine myself!

Soon we reached the desert resort where dinner and stomach dance program was organized. Welcome beverage was Traditional “Kahwa” and tea. Kahwa is sort of black coffee. Me being coffee freak, delighted in 4 – 5 cups of Kahwa w/o sugar in 2 hours duration. People started unwinding a bit and opted for mehandi and “SASHA”. Sasha is conventional Arabian flavoured smoking cigarettes pipe just like Indian HUKKA.

After an hours time, Arabian style grilled chicken and meat kebab were served along with some Indian veg food. I was shocked to see the dominating use of Indian food over western and Arabian food. Even Rajma Rice and Dal was offered!! read more dune buggy Dubai.

Half an hour’s passed by, individuals were unwinding after supper and Stomach Dancer’s arrival was revealed and in a flash, even prior to individuals would start to understand what’s taking place; the stubborn belly dancer showed up on stage wearing bright red Arabian belly match and she literally took the stage by storm.

After storming the stage nonstop for practically 20 minutes, stomach dancer rapidly disappeared from the stage the way she had shown up; in a flash.
